Happy in Jacksonville

Because of my job, I’ve lived all over the country.

I typically spend anywhere from one to three years in a location, before I’m sent to a new area. I don’t like to waste money on rent. I prefer to have a house of my own. If I’m smart about my investments, I’m able to flip the house for a profit. Since I never knew anyone in the area, I spent a lot of time at home. I’ve accumulated an impressive selection of tools and taught myself how to complete a wide range of home improvements. I can replace windows, update light fixtures, hang drywall, wire outlets, install plumbing fixtures, lay ceramic tile and all sorts of helpful jobs. Things like landscaping, painting and a few new appliances can significantly increase the overall value and appeal of the property. There are times when I need to relocate very quickly. I don’t have the time to list with a realtor and deal with showings and financing delays. I am not willing to own a property hundreds of miles away from my new home. Plus, I need the money from the sale to finance the next home. In those situations, a cash buyer proves invaluable. All it takes is the submission of an online form and I have an offer within an hour. I can close on the property within two weeks. While the offer might not be as high as I could find if I put the house on the traditional market, I also avoid the realtor fees, more expensive closing costs and worrying about inspections. About two years ago, my job took me to Jacksonville, Florida. I toured potential real estate and decided to splurge on a house on the river. I have palm trees in my yard and a view of blue water. I’ve bought a kayak and a paddleboard. The weather is beautiful year round. I have no desire to sell my current home and move again.
