I have been watching Jacksonville real estate listings for the last year. I am looking for a home in the Avondale, San Marcos, Neptune Beach or Mandarin neighborhoods. Several promotions at work have significantly increased my income. I’ve invested a great deal of time and effort into my current house to greatly increase the value. When I bought the property, it had been left vacant for quite some time. It was in need of updates as well as repairs. Over the years, I’ve improved the landscaping with gardens, trees, shrubs and paved walkways. I built a deck on the back of the house and added a fence around the yard. I’ve replaced the windows in the house and put on a new roof. Inside, I pulled out the old stained carpeting and discovered hardwood underneath. While it was a lot of labor, I refinished the floors. I’ve also installed new appliances, new light fixtures and remodeled the kitchen and bathrooms. With my improvements and the current real estate market in Jacksonville, my house is now worth much more than I paid for it. I am ready to make an upgrade to my living situation and location. I would love to find a house for sale on the water. I am looking for something with more property and a swimming pool. There are properties available on the St. Johns River that include tennis courts. My biggest concern is the timing of everything. To afford the new home, I need to close on the current house beforehand. I don’t want to close on the current house without being able to move into the new house. I don’t want to end up renting a temporary apartment and putting my furniture in storage.
